Founded in 1994 No0vatek company is engaged in exploration, extraction and processing of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons and posses 4.7mn barrels of an oil equivalent of proved resources to the end of 2006. All OAO Novatek’s deposits and licensed fields are located in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District of Russian Federation. Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District proven to be biggest natural gas producing region in the world, witch includes over 90% of all natural gas produced in Russia and around 20% of natural gas produced in the world.
